Curriculum

 

He studied art in ENPEG La Esmeralda between 2001 and 2006. He has had solo shows in Mexico, Chile (Galería AFA, Santiago), Brazil (Galería BARO, Sao Paulo), and Germany (Ferenbalm Gurbru-Station, Karlsruhe). Among them “Gala para la muerte” at  MUPO (Oaxaca, Mexico), “Mudanza de flores y cristales” in Casa del Lago, and “El bosque y el columpio” in Galería Arroniz (both, Mexico City).

His work has been exhibited in Mexican museums such as the Museum of Modern Art, Carrillo Gil Art Museum, JUMEX collection, Museo del Chopo, and in international venues such as ZKM center in Germany. González’s paintings and graphic works have also been presented in international art fairs in Argentina, Chile, Germany, the UK, the United States, Colombia, Peru, Spain, Mexico, and Switzerland.

Agusín González García has worked in professional printmaking workshops such as Taller Bordes and La Trampa Gráfica. He belongs to the art collective “Segundo Piso”, alongside Omar Barquet, Moris, and José Luis Landet.

He has been awarded FONCA’s Jóvenes Creadores’ fellowship in 2006-2007 (print), 2008-2009 (painting), and 2012-2013 (painting) and has won several awards such as: “Galardón para artista emergente ZONA MACO 2013 Tequila 100 años”; first prize painting award “First Biennale Pedro Coronel Zacatecas”; “Young artist award Aguascalientes, 2006”; first prize award (twice) in UAEM Toluca Universitary Biennale; first prize award, José Guadalupe Posada’s XIII printmaking biennale, Aguascalientes. His work has been acquired by the following institutions: JUMEX collection, Mexico; PAMN Pérez Museum, Miami; British Museum (UK); Pedro Coronel Museum (Mexico); Museo de la Estampa (Mexico): MACO Oaxaca (Mexico), Museo Posada (Mexico); Museo Leopoldo Flores de Toluca (Mexico); Grafische Sammlung Stattsgalerie Stuttgart (Germany).
