MAIN ROOM

SEPTEMBER 2020- JANUARY 2021

Like other activities and human goods, in a context of health crisis, art and its display devices are reconfigured and renewed. Submerged within the global situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Arróniz gallery interrupts its previously organized program of exhibitions, to reflect on the different ways of exhibiting contemporary art, their scope and discursive possibilities.

So what?, Is the title of a long-term collective show that will take place from September 7, 2020 in the gallery’s main hall. The selection of works is regularly modified in an organic and free way with the intention of generating a more dynamic device for new proposals, consignments and archives of its represented artists and new collaborators. The first moment of this curatorial project is characterized by retaking a constant axis in Arróniz’s approach: geometric abstraction and space.

So what? It is also a poetic reference to Miles Davis and Jazz, where everything is allowed, it is worth improvising. It is also the first track from the Kind of Blue, his 1959 album. It is a question to the present for the immediate future and it is a challenge: so what?
